The functional surfaces of joint implants are highly polished and thus very contact sensitive. Important properties are the form error of the entire surface and its roughness. With tolerances of 20 µm to 50 µm, the requirements for measurement uncertainty are in the medium range. The measuring time plays a subordinate role.
