Gear wheels have a standardised geometry. Their measurement is carried out according to DIN 3962. Profile form deviation, flank line deviation as well as pitch, circular run-out radial and tool thickness are measured. Depending on the application of the gears, the tolerances range from a few µm to 100 µm. The measuring time plays a subordinate role.
