The special feature of crankshafts is the eccentric run-out of the stroke bearings. The profile of the main and pin bearings, the crowning of the bearings and the lengths have to be measured. The demands on the measurement uncertainty are very high, the tolerances are in the range of 5 µm to 20 µm. The requirement on the measuring time is also quite high. For measurement, it is recommended to hold the crankshafts vertically between centres.
