A special feature of taps is their complex geometries. Important parameters are the profile of the thread, pitch, lead, flank diameter, relief and pointing. With tolerances of approx. 10 µm to 15 µm, the requirements for measurement uncertainty are high. The measuring time plays a subordinate role. Due to the thread pitch, shadowing can occur during measurement with the vision sensor, so the additional use of a tilt axis is recommended.
