Milling cutters in indexable insert design are characterised by large diameters and a high weight. In addition to the important diameter, profile shape, angles, radii and distances are also measured at the insert seat. With tolerances of approx. 10 µm to 15 µm, the demands on measurement uncertainty are high. This also applies to the measuring speed. For the measurement of milling cutters in indexable insert design, the use of a rotary axis is necessary.
