The extrusion process is used to produce complex profiles from plastics or metallic materials such as aluminum with high precision and speed. The strand emerges from the tool (die) at speeds of up to 1 m/s. It is therefore important to provide the measuring programmes for process control even before production starts. These programmes are usually generated directly on the 2D data set.
