Werth Interferometer Probe WIP

highly accurate measurement with small probes

The Werth Interferometer Probe (WIP) is a non-contact, fiber optic distance sensor for the high precision measurement of size, form, and roughness on Werth multisensor coordinate measuring machines. The small size of the sensor makes the WIP particularly well-suited for capturing difficult to access geometric features, such as small or deep holes (injectors, turbine blades) and grooves (rotors for electric motors). Due to its very low probing error of 0.25 micrometers, the sensor is also suitable for measuring optical components, lithographic structures on glass, or structures on wafers. In RS-design, the WIP provides a highly precise roundness measurement with a rotating probe. The sensor tips typically have diameters between 0.1 to 1 mm and lengths between 5 mm and 50 mm. Special probes can also be made upon request.
